Penghujung dekade 90an tiba-tiba kita dihentak dengan paras cantik yang dengan merdu menggabungkan musik country dengan pop enerjik yang langsung membuat orang-orang jatuh cinta. Shania Twain. Diva cantik ini berhasil menghipnotis penikmat musik di penjuru dunia dan menancapkan kukunya di peta industri musik dunia. Fenomena Shania Twain memang luar biasa saat itu. Padahal Shania sempat di tuding berkhianat dengan genre musik nya. Namun yang terjadi sebaliknya. • Twain topped her own record with the release of Come on Over, beating out then Diamond album The Woman in Me, as the best-selling country music album ever released by a female artist. It was, in fact, the best-selling album ever released by a female artist. Debuting at #2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with a moderate 172,000 copies (3,000 units behind Mase's Harlem World), the album showed its consistency when it moved another 170,000 copies in its second week (a 1.2% decrease) to stay at #2 again behind Barbra Streisand's Higher Ground.

• The RIAA certified Come on Over Gold, Platinum and 2× platinum on December 23, 1997. It sold more than 100,000 units in each of sixty-two weeks. The album's best sales week was its 110th week, during which it sold 355,000 units to settle at number ten (Christmas 1999).

• The album stayed on the top 100 for 151 weeks. Worldwide, the album has sold 39 million copies. Come on Over ranks as the second best-selling album of the Nielsen SoundScan era in United States, with 15,487,000 copies sold up to December 24, 2009,[2] trailing its nearest rival, Metallica's 1991 self-titled album, by only 3,000 copies.

Shania awalnya merilis album Come On Over di negaranya, Kanada dengan musik country yang standar. Melihat gelagat bahwa album ini laris di pasaran, kemudian tahun 1998 Shania merilis Come On Over secara internasional dan hasilnya bisa ditebak. Album terlaris dekade 1990. Lagu You're still the one menjadi lagu cinta evergreen yang terus diingat orang hingga sekarang. That don't impress me much menjadi anthem para wanita yang sebel dengan tingkah pria yang menyebalkan. From This Moment menjadi lagu pernikahan yang terus abadi hingga sekarang. Demikian juga You've Got A Way. yang menjadi theme song film laris Julia Roberts "Notting Hill", sementara lagu-lagu lainnya sama enaknya dan begitu menghentak telinga. Semua orang tiba-tiba keranjingan musik country yang berevolusi menjadi musik internasional. Predikat Diva langsung Shania sandang. Shania juga terpilih sebagai salah satu Diva dalam acara Divas Live dimana ia berbagi panggung dengan Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, dan Gloria Estefan.

Setelah album ini Shania merilis album Up yang juga sukses luar biasa (namun tidak menyaingi album Come On Over), kemudian Greatest Hits. Perlahan, ketika dia menjadi ibu, Shania seolah sibuk dengan urusan rumah tangga. Sempat santer akan merilis album fenomenal lain, malah terdengar kabar ia bercerai dengan suaminya yang menurut berita berselingkuh dengan teman baiknya.
