Alexandre Aja has brought us The Hills Have Eyes that was really scary and good. Now with a lot of nudity, he made a BLOOD BATH in Piranha 3D.
There is no essential plot in this movie. You are just told that there is an earthquake that released the pre-historic hungry piranhas into Lake Victoria. One, two, three victims come into the screen until young horny half naked men and women tragically got eaten in the climax. The subplot (can I call that?) is also given: Julie Forester (Elizabeth Shue), the sheriff, knows first what have been swimming around in the lake but when she warns the party animals, it is too late. While busy rescuing people, she has to save her children (a teen son and two kids) who are in the sinking yacht. But how can they be in the yacht? You gotta watch the movie yourself.
Nudity Alert: There is WAY too much female nudity here. There's a wet T-shirt contest which offers no other point than to see women's breasts in 3-D. And there's a long skinny dipping session between two women (set to classical music!) which has them kissing and making out. And women's breasts and butts are constantly being shown on screen. Love it or hate it??
I'm not saying that this movie is bad. With no plot, lots of boobs, and 3D, watching it from DVD was a bad idea, ha..ha
In case you notice, there are a lot of moments that is similar to other movies. The sheriff reminds me Lake Placid. The yacht slightly reminds me Deep Blue Sea. The rescue reminds me Crocodile (lol), and the stumbling stage reminds me Titanic (sorry..!) and many more.
Hey, it's not hard to notice that Jake Forester is played by Steven McQueen. Not familiar with him? Oh please...
He's Jeremy Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries. Or back in the days, he was Kyle Hunter in Everwood (aired in Indosiar)
