FAST 5 >>> THE SHAVED HEADS RULE...!!

Sebagai franchise yang paling mengandalkan kebut-kebutan mobil sebagai jualan utama, film yang dibintangi pria-pria macho ini masih yang terdepan dan belum terkalahkan. Dan nampaknya seri-seri berikutnya akan terus dibuat.

Seri ke 4 sangat membuat penonton kecewa dengan matinya tokoh yang dimainkan Michelle Rodriguez, namun kejutan manis akan muncul di seri ke enam nampaknya jika menilik ending yang ada pada instalmen ke 5 ini.

Fast 5 lebih istimewa dalam beberapa hal. Pertama di sutradarai Justin Lin yang menyutradaria Tokyo Drift yang bagi banyak orang tidak diakui sebagai seri Fast and Furious. Namun ternyata Justin Lin mampu memboyong pemain-pemain di seri sebelumnya. Tyrese Gibson yang muncul di seri ke 2 menggantikan Vin Diesel berhasil digaet. Sementara bintang-bintang utama, kecuali Michelle, tetap melanjutkan perannya. Jika saja Lucas Black, Michelle Rodriguez, Devon Aoki, dan Eva Mendez (cuma cameo di seri ini) ikut bermain juga, maka film ini layak mendapat A plus. Namun Eva dan Michelle sudah dipastikan muncul di seri ke-6. Untungnya hadirnya Dwayne Johnson mampu mengangkat seri ini ke level adrenalin tingkat tinggi. Dan jadilah film ini dikuasi binntang-bintang berotot berkepala pleontos: Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, dan Tyrese Gibson.

Plot masih seputar usaha Don, Brian, dan Mia yang jadi buronan. Kali ini mereka terperangkap di Brazil dan dikejar-kejar para polusi korup sekaligus diburu oleh agen pemerintah yang tak lain Luke Hobbs yang diperankan Dwayne The Rock.

Dengan pertolongan Vince (inget? yang naksir Mia di seri 1?) dan rekan-rekan lama mereka, Dom cs merencanakan hal-hal gila yang tentu saja melibatkan mobil dan baku hantam di jalan raya.

Bertemunya Luke dan Dom lumayan monumental dan cukup memberi ketegangan tersendiri. Duo Big Muscle ini terlibat baku hantam yang sangat seru. Hadirnya Vince (walau harus tewas, spoiler!!!) memberi kesan baik sehingga seri ini nampak punya koherensi yang bagus. Lainnya Tokoh Han yang sedikit mengganggu. Loh kenapa? Han awalnya tampil di Tokyo Drift yang kita tahu adalah cerita paling terdepan. Sementara kita juga tahu Han tewas di akhir cerita Tokyo Drift penonton menjadi kasihan dengan tokoh ini walau diakhir cerita dia bahagia. Jika Lucas Black tampil di seri selanjutnya, maka tokoh Han jelas harus ditiadakan.

Oh ya, hadirnya Tyrese Gibson dengan banyolan2 kocaknya membuat film ini segar layaknya di seri ke-2.

Indikasi bahwa tokoh yang diperankan Michelle Rodriguez akan kembali cukup besar. Hadirnya Eva mendez di akhir cerita menandakan bahwa dua wanita seksi tersebut bakal tampil lagi. Sementara tokoh Dom terlihat bahagia mendapat kekasih, apa jadinya jika sang pacar yang semua orang kira telah tewas, Leti, ternyata masih gentayangan menjadi bajing loncat?

Apa The Rock akan hadir juga? Entahlah, tapi jika benar tentu saja akan menjadi sajian yang menggigit. Atau mungkin kali ini Dominic Purcell saja yang di gaet. The other muscular shaved head must be in.

Memang The Fast and The Furious orisinil dianggap klasik karena adegan car race-nya yang tak terlalu berlebihan sebagai film eksyen, dan sequel2nya dianggap hanya film2 mediocre dengan eksyen yang tidak realistis. Tapi misi film ini sebagai hiburan haruslah tetap dihargai. Dan lagi, antusiasme penonton adalah darah bagi kelangsungan franchise ini.

RESIDENT EVIL 4: AFTER LIFE >>> Prison Break of Zombieland..!!

Entah apa yang salah dengan jilid ke empat petualangan Alice ini, pokoknya saya tidak merasakan thrill yang sama ketika saat pertama menyaksikan jilid satu dan dua.

Berharap banyak akan berbeda dengan hadirnya Wentworth Miller dan kembalinya Ali Larter yang kebetulan keduanya adalah bintang serial televisi favorit saya ternyata tidak membuat film ini menjadi berkesan.

Peran Alice menjadi kadung lengket dengan Mila Jovovich. Entah apa akan masih ada yang menonton jika Alice diperankan aktris lain. Karekter super hebat ini tiba-tiba saja menjadi tidak menyenangkan lagi untuk saya nikmati. Semua terasa mudah diatasi oleh sang jagoan ini dan ini menjadi bumerang bagi plot film secara keseluruhan. Makin lama Alice makin kehilangan ekpresi dan emosi sehingga tidak enak dinikmati.

Eksplorasi terhadap karakter Claire (Ali Larter) juga terlalu dangkal. Claire di buat amnesia sedemikian rupa tanpa pengembangan karakter yang berarti. Hadirnya karakter Chris sang kakak (Wentworth Miller) tidak juga membantu plot ini menjadi lebih menarik. Wentworth tidak menunjukkan kemajuan akting yang memadai. Lepas dari peran napi di Prison Break, malah masuk lagi ke peran tipikal yang tidak mengharuskan dirinya berdialog lama-lama. Terus terang saja, siapa pun bisa mengambil peran ini jika karakternya sedangkal itu.


Para survivor lain benar-benar parah. Terjadinya pengulangan plot sebenarnya bisa termaafkan, namun kali ini benar-benar parah karena penonton tidak dibuat bersimpati dengan mereka sehingga ketika satu persatu terbantai oleh para zombie, penonton hanya melongo tanpa merasa kasihan sama sekali. Bandingkan dengan jilid 1,2, dan 3 yang menegangkan itu. Ketika satu persatu harus di bantai para zombie, kita dibuat deg-degan sambil berharap mereka selamat. Ingat ketika tokoh yang dimainkan Ashanti dan Oded Fehr (atau Michelle Rodriguez di jilid satu) di jilid ketiga harus tewas?? Betapa penonton menyayangkan kematian mereka, dan di jilid empat ini penonton tidak merasa seperti itu karena penulis cerita tidak mengeksplorasi karakter mereka satu persatu.

Satu jam pertama kita dibuat bosan dengan pencarian Alice terhadap para survivor yang di jilid sebelumnya diceritakan selamat. Dan untuk kemudian bertemu Claire yang hilang ingatan. Melalui flashback Claire-lah kita tahu benang merah jilid ketiga dan keempat ini. Kemudian Alice menemukan para survivor lain yang berada disebuah gedung yang dikelilingi para zombie. Selebihnya cerita bisa dengan mudah ditebak.

Di sini sosok para zombie tidak lagi menjadi 'peran utama'. Penonton tidak diberi penjelasan pasti mengapa para zombie kini sudah bermutasi. Jawaban pastinya mungkin bisa ditemukan oleh para gamers atau sinopsis-sinopsis yang bertaburan di internet.

Jilid keempat ini nampak seperti sebuah serial teve yang sesudah kelar menyaksikannya kita menunggu lanjutannya, namun tanpa rasa penasaran. Hadir dengan teknologi 3D, membuat terlalu banyak slow motion yang mengganggu intensitas ketegangan (yg kurang tegang).

Jika memang akan berlanjut lagi ke jilid kelima, niat menontonnya memang masih ada, namun tetap saja 3 jilid pertama tetap menjadi yang terbaik. Perbaikan di sektor plot dan eksplorasi karakter wajib dilakukan. Jilid satu luar biasa seram dan menegangkan, Eric Mabius tampil mengesankan. Jilid kedua tetap terjaga karena setting yang sudah 'naik' ke dunia atas. Jilid ketiga tetap seru dangan banyaknya adegan kejar-kejaran dan hadirnya Ashanti dan Oded Fehr yang harus tewas disini. Dan jilid keempat, benar-benar parah, atau karena memakai teknologi 3D maka sisi cerita menjadi terabaikan? Entahlah.

Wentworth Earl Miller III, or better known to audiences as just Wentworth Miller, was born on June 2, 1972, in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England to parents, Joy Marie Palm, a special education teacher, and Wentworth Earl Miller II, a lawyer educator. He has two younger sisters, Gillian and Leigh. When he turned a year old, his family moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York. His father became an assistant district attorney over there. Wentworth retains a dual citizenship, but affirms that he has always been an American. He also comes from a very diverse background, his father is of African-American, Jamaican, English, German, Jewish and Cherokee descent, and his mother is of Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian and Lebanese descent.

Wentworth attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn, where he was a member of Sing!, an annual musical production that was started by Midwood. He later on transferred to Quaker Valley Senior High School in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Wentworth was a straight As student in high school and was involved in the AV club and school newspaper.

After graduating from high school in 1990, he attended Princeton University. He was also a cartoonist for the school paper and a member of the A Capella group, The Princeton Tigertones, where he sang baritone. It was then that he realized he was interested in performing in front of big and small audiences. Five years later, in 1995, he graduated from Princeton with a bachelor's degree in English Literature and moved to California.

That same year, he was hired by a small company who made movies for television. About a year and a half later, he realized that he had unconsciously moved to Los Angeles to be an actor. He then decided to quit his job at the production company even after his employee at the production company had offered him another stable job position. Unfortunately for Wentworth, breaking into the industry was a tough job for him. He worked as a temp at several production companies before ending up working as a temp for his former employee's production office.

It wasn't too long before Wentworth started landing guest roles on show such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ER and Popular. He also starred in the Hallmark series, Dinotopia, playing the character, David Scott. These guest spots later on led to a role in the feature film, The Human Stain, which happened to be his breakthrough role, alongside Nicole Kidman and Sir Anthony Hopkins, where he played the younger version of Anthony Hopkins' character, Coleman Silk. Although the film didn't fare well in movie theaters, it was well received by viewers and critics, further catapulting Wentworth to bigger stardom.

After The Human Stain, he appeared in the movie Underworld, as Dr Adam Lockwood, opposite Kate Beckinsale and Stealth, playing the voice of EDI. He also guest-starred in the series finale of CBS' Joan of Arcadia, as Ryan Hunter, a charming-yet-sinister man who revealed to Joan that he also spoke to God. It was reported that his character would be Joan's greatest challenge, but in May, CBS decided to cancel the show, leaving fans to wonder what might have been. In 2005, Wentworth appeared in the pilot of Ghost Whisperer before eventually starring on FOX network's Prison Break.

Wentworth plays the role of Michael Scofield, a character helping his brother, Lincoln Burrows, escape death row after being found guilty of a crime he did not commit. He stars alongside actors, Dominic Purcell, Amaury Nolasco and Robert Knepper. Prison Break became an instant hit and Wentworth secured a spot among viewers as one of the hottest up-and-coming actors around. His performance in the show earned him a Golden Globe nomination, a Saturn Award nomination, as well as three Teen Choice Award nominations.

The Brooklyn native also appeared in two of Mariah Carey's music videos, "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together" as Mariah's love interest. Brett Ratner, who was signed on to direct both the music videos, directed the pilot episode of Prison Break and already knew who Wentworth was. Brett then brought up the idea to the songstress about using Wentworth in the videos. After showing Mariah pictures of Wentworth, she agreed to use him and Wentworth managed to work on both the videos and Prison Break with the help of crew members who constructed a special set on the set of the videos. Wentworth even admits that the two days he spent working with Mariah, was in fact, one of his career highs - even topping anything he's ever done prior to Prison Break because it gave him so much exposure.

Wentworth describes himself as a very private person who likes to spend time just relaxing at home when he's not working. He enjoys swimming, reading, taking naps as well as going to different restaurants every week.

He has also mentioned in an interview that he is writing a screenplay in Chicago, and he enjoys spending time at The Art Institute Of Chicago because he believes that music, painting, movies and theater can all contribute to the work of an actor.

When I got to college, acting suddenly seemed like a very risky proposition and all my friends were going to law school or med school or Wall Street.

You might look at my CV and see I've had 12 jobs, but I've been to over 450 auditions so I've heard 'no' a lot more than I've heard 'yes'. The buzz comes from www.collider.com today. As we already knew, Andy finally gave up his role for the second season of Spartacus in order to receive more treatment for his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Wentworth Miller who just fought zombies in Resident Evil: After Life has expressed interest in taking over the role of the series. Went hasn't involved with any TV series since Prison Break ended and now would be a good time for his great comeback.

Though it's great to see Wentworth in TV again, but the idea of being Spartacus seemed impossible for me. Wentworth has different look with Andy, and by look I mean the muscle. Wentworth has a big name on TV so who knows? Let's see how it goes. I'll keep you posted as this story develops.

Ratings expectations are lower in the summer months but the suburban supernatural series averaged only a 0.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and just 2.95 million total viewers. Though the ABC show has a devoted audience, there really just aren’t enough of them for a network series.

After weeks without news of The Gates’ status, Grillo recently tweeted, “I’m told from a friend at ABC that The Gates are closing. No season 2 Still unofficial but that’s the latest.”

After a big negative fan response, Haynes tweeted him, writing, “That caused an uproar haha. It is still not decided if #thegates is coming back or not. There is no official news as of now. Soon”

Grillo wrote back, “wow. Certainly did. Just passed on what we got yesterday. As I said. ‘Unofficial’ but as I see ABC’s ratings tank who knows.”

In any cast, it looks like two of the show’s executive producers have already moved on. Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo (who also co-created the series) have been hired by ABC, along with Greg Poirier, to develop a new summer series for the network. It looks like it’ll be a drama that revolves around a female spy.

Scoffield fights the zombies in RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE

Wentworth Miller, the guy we know as Micheal Scoffield in Prison Break will join Mila and Ali to kick some zombie's asses in the new sequel of Resident Evil: After Life. Ali Larter, as you know, was the hot dangerous woman from the series Heroes. For Ali, this movie is not her first major role coz she previously participated in some movies like Final Destination or Obssessed (with Beyonce).

Wentworth Miller, FYI, was in two Mariah Carey's videos: It's like that and We belong together. He played a small part in Underworld and Human Stain, as I recall. (well we in Indonesia have limited choices of movie). So Resident Evil is Went's biggest movie project ever.

And if I'm not mistaken, Went also played in one episode of Ghost Whisperer, right? as an army man who died and became a ghost or something...in the first season...

MoviesOnline: Did you have any special training for this movie?

Wentworth Miller: You know what, I got my training on Prison Break. It was four years of stunt work and choreography and all of that came into play very specifically with Resident Evil.

MoviesOnline: Whenever we talked to you during Prison Break you were actually saying you didn’t want to do movies at the same time. So now with your first movie after Prison Break, how carefully did you choose what was coming your way and why did you pick this?

Wentworth Miller: Well, the first thing I did after Prison Break was actually an episode of Law and Order, which was a show I want to be a part of in some small way. I think that was a pretty clear indication of where my head was at as far as – there’s a certain well-worn narrative in this industry about a TV actor who wraps up a series that put him on the map, and now it’s time to throw your hat into the feature film ring. I don’t subscribe to that narrative, it’s not my story. For me, a role is a role is a role, and whether that’s TV, film or theater, I just have to go with what inspires me.

MoviesOnline: So are you a gamer at all?

Wentworth Miller: I am not. My family put an emphasis on education so it was all about homework. There wasn’t much time for comic books or video games, so this is kind of my chance to have a second childhood. It’s like a do-over.

MoviesOnline: How different is your character from the video game to the movie? Doesn’t the character have biceps the size of his head in the video game?

Wentworth Miller: Oh yeah, that’s the first difference. In preparing for the role, I felt the need to respect what was already out there, in terms of the video game mythology, and I did my research online, going to fan sites and blogs to find out what the conversation was about this character, what the expectations might be. But then I had to balance that with who I am as an actor, and what I inherently bring to the table, and who is the Chris Redfield that Paul W.S. Anderson establishes in this movie. He’s very specific to the feature film interpretation of Resident Evil, rather than the video game. It was a question of balancing all three influences, and I’d like to think that I did my best.

Kadang membayangkan punya sodara cowok yang gak jauh beda umurnya seru juga kali ye. Bisa tukar-tukaran baju, sepatu, maen game or karaokean bareng, ngobrol akrab. Wah seru juga ya. Sayang gw gak punya pengalaman kyk gitu. Walau punya temen akrab, tapi tetep aja rasanya laen kalo itu sodara kita sendiri. Lucas dan Nathan Scott (One Tree Hills)

Meski punya bapak yang sama, Lucas kurang beruntung nasibnya. Dia tidak diakui oleh sang ayah, dan di sekolah dia sering jadi bahan ejekan sang sodara. Seiring bergulirnya cerita, Lucas dan Nathan akhirnya menyadari kalo mereka hanya buang-buang energi saja kalo sering berantem. Lucas akhirnya jadian dengan Peyton yang dulunya pacar Nathan. Lincoln Burrow dan Michael Scoffield (Prison Break)

Kakak adik yang tak pernah cekcok ini dijuluki The Brute and The Brain. Linc tau betul kalo dia tidak pintar, jadi dia berusaha keras menyekolahkan sang adik yang seorang jenius. Awalnya Micheal benci dengan kelakuan kriminal sang kakak dan berpikir bahwa biaya pendidikannya berasal dari warisan sang ibu. Ketika Linc di tahan dan terancam dihukum mati karena dituduh membunuh saudara wakil presiden AS, Mike yang akhirnya tau pengorbanan sang kakak, bertekad membebaskan Linc. Caranya? Ikut-ikutan dipenjara dan sebelumnya membuat tato disekujur tubuh yang rupanya adalah cetak biru denah penjara.
